Just got a new custom with the new FCS2 plugs. It's got five fin plugs however I only got an AM thruster set and planned to use some old two tab quad rears I have at home for when I use it as a quad.
I had a look at the website, which is a piece of poo compared to the old one. Hard to compare the fins in my opinion. Also did a search of the general interwebs and can't find many reviews on the "new" techs.
The AM's I have are Performamce Core. They seem to work great with my board.
Im familiar with the old two tab glass flex, pc range and pg range.
Most of the fins I've really enjoyed over the years were flat faced performance glass fins. I find the glass fins have more drive.
I want to get a few sets of spares for when I travel but due to the price difference I'm looking towards the Neo glass range.
has anyone ridden them? How would they compare to other fins you've ridden.
There are a few sets on gumtree that I've thought about trying but I don't want to waste cash on fins that aren't much better than the glass flex ones.

Thanks mate,Ringmaster wrote:Got some Neo Glass accelerator FCS2's (large) on a 6'1" thruster right now. Only surfed em' in clean 2 - 4 foot reef waves but in a couple of words......responsive and 'bitey'. Hope that helps. ...$89 for the set on FCS online shop a month or so ago. Good value considering how exxy glass fins are today IMO
I don't want to fork out the extra for glass fins in the feeling/performance is almost the same. It's not like I'm a pro or anything.
Cheers.
Still keen to hear others experience on this. Times like this I miss having Pridmore and the fin lovers around.

Might not help but surfblanks sell solid fibreglass thruster fin sets. $50. Also sell fibreglass quad rears, $45. They'll fit in fcs 2.
I mentioned it because you said you liked fibreglass fins.
Re: FCS 2 fins
Bought Neo glass fins for my Indo trip. Used reactors in my 6'2 sweet spot 2.0. Felt great.
Put some performer quads in my PCC 6'0 small wave board and liked them too.
Didn't really chop and change fins over there too much.

Re: FCS 2 fins
Thought I might dig this old thread up. Would be keen to see what people have been riding lately on their daily boards?
I've had medium AM PC tri/quad
Neo glass performers tri/quad
Neo glass reactors
Weighing 80kg's these days so on the borderline between sizes.
Thinking of getting some carvers in large for a bit more drive in sloppy surf and using the performer centre fin to keep it loose.
Anyone tried these before?

Did the Large Carver experiment. Too big.

Re: FCS 2 fins
Shapers have a fair few fins in the med/large in between category.
They have an fcs2 front plug as well.
I think your board and style of surfing has more to do with suitable fin than your actual weight though.

Re: FCS 2 fins
Dont like the am's? I got some large am2's last year. Plenty of drive but reduced tip area compared to other fins makes them more responsive.
Re: FCS 2 fins
I use an Indofins glass copy of a Stretch Quad (but with bigger front fins)
Quad Front & thruster rear are large
Base - 117mm
Depth - 118mm'
Quad rear are quite small
Base - 98mm
Depth - 98mm
The foil is much thicker than most fins
A 5 fin set is $50. I use them in every board I own.
I weigh 75kg

Re: FCS 2 fins
Love the AM larges.
and medium reactors
I seem to like a smaller back fin.
