Classic old man’s list. Where are the aerialists?
Re: Just general surfing stuff
I wouldn’t have Laird in there.

Not that big a fan but you can definitely drop him in instead of Dayne Reynolds.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I’m a huge fan but basically Wayne Lynch did it all first.

Really. Ok then. I knew that Lynch was a pioneer and everything but I thought that MP was regarded as untouchable at the time.
I also endorse Dane being included. No one other than JJF has grabbed me as being so far ahead (on pure ability) than those two.

Like all lists, Matt put it out there as a discussion starter. It’s people who were pointing to the future while doing stuff different to everyone else. Rather than people who were doing the same as other people but just clearly better.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Owl, Reno, Larry, Gerry, Tom, Nick and Loofs are sorely missing from this list.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I remember Tommy saying if you wanted to see where Michael got his style from just hold a mirror up to a photo of Wayne Lynch.
Lynch was at the very end of his competitive career when MP started his rise. He only came back for the first couple of Professional Comps like the one at Manly against Larry Blair.

He's dead.

What's happening in the afterlife then?

Probably for SUPs and surfing Jaws. I gather the list was about innovation.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.
