Yeh great wave and so well surfed but I still would have preferred another 6 inches on the board.Wyre wrote: ↑Thu Apr 15, 2021 4:31 pmThoughts on this fella's surfing? Around 11mins his first wave at J Bay is a cracker. No TC but pretty damn good. I'm not too familiar with him.

I'm actually quite enjoying the Narra Classic. Some good surfing going down in conditions we can all relate to!

Re: Just general surfing stuff
missed it completely today. might watch a few highlights with an evening beer and weep. had been planning to spend the upcoming week (second week of school break) in phuket, getting a couple of surfs in, but a covid19 outbreak and associated inter-province travel restrictions have put paid to that. drats! boohoo...

Re: Just general surfing stuff
There’s surf on Phuket? I remember having some pretty good body surfing sessions over the other side on Kho Samui.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
There sure is - not world class but can be great fun: https://www.saltwater-dreaming.com/surfing-phuket.htm
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Spent Xmas once at Kho Samui and every morning had a body surf on a lovely little sandbank - everyone else was still in bed with hangovers. Was living/working in HK at the time so any wave was a godsend.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Nice fun waves.
But as usual the nose riding leaves me cold.
I love turning a board and staying close to the slot.
People riding obviously purpose built nose riders, jumping to their feet and walking straight to the nose just don't grab me.
Waste of a good wave.

Where's Steve, we need him to verify this claim:

Steve's probably vegging out and basking in the family embrace after several long hard days of surf reporting for Beachgrit on the Narrabeen contest. And a marvellous job he's done too. You beauty Steve.
