I want Nightclub Dwight dead in his grave I want the nice-nice up in blazes
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Nah NPJ Quartet. But, I love that CI especially outside the Copa club house when it’s 4-6ft breaking miles out in deeper water. Got a Christensen fish recently. Bloody great, easy to ride and easy to turn. Guys a genius. Thinking about buying a longboard and joining the local longboard club. Possibly a DVS 9’2 All Rounder, want to get before Dick gives up, not sure if you could ride comps on that board re: regulations around Malibus etc.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Given the shitty wind I trekked to Noosa.
Got a bunch of nice little peelers across Johnson's almost to First Point.
Not crowded and 200+ metre rides.
Well worth the drive. Even got a park beside the lifesavers.

You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Paddled out after a few long checks through the day. It had been sunny but by the time I got out it was messy. Most people had gone in. A lot of water moving around. Bit of a safe spot in between the reef and the outside breaking left. Got one. Tried for a couple of others then decided to paddle in after missing the last one. Still glad I made the effort.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
I went in the ocean today with a surfboard and I stood up 3 times, but it would be generous to describe what I did as surfing.
Still getting the the lay of the land and chose poorly, a break that looked good from the road but was actually pretty lumpy.
First surf in a steamer in about 10 years and the first ever in booties. First time surfing in the eastern Pacific in over 15 years.

I have no problem with them.
Also saves on wax.

I'm not a fan of them either but in frigid water they really become essential to help ward off the baby cow cramps. And as Trev says they save on wax and improve your grip on the board. Most surfers in Santa Cruz wear them because along with the cold you often walk out across rocks and there is always broken glass and shit on the road/sidewalk.
I hate wearing gloves as they just tire my arms faster but on very cold days in bigger swells they have come in handy gripping onto a longboard trying to duck under a steam train of white water bearing down on you.

Does your wife make them for you ?
The moving finger writes and having writ moves on ... now all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel even half a line ... nor all thy tears wash out a single word of it.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
I like to wear goggles in the surf. Saves on getting dry contact lenses.
Is there anything worse than unnecessary booties or rubber for perceived cold. Booties in Queensland, really?

Re: Where did you surf today ?
There’s something about injecting unnecessary comfort into a sport like surfing. It’s takes away from being in the elements.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Those stairs at Steamer Lane look like you could get seriously smashed trying to walk up in a large swell. Guess you could just paddle down to Cowells.Grooter wrote: ↑Thu Jul 21, 2022 9:01 amI'm not a fan of them either but in frigid water they really become essential to help ward off the baby cow cramps. The cold doesn't worry me.
Never did.
Even in Sydney.
