Just did a lap of Byron Surf Festival, lot of beautiful surfboards, mostly twins. Saw Malcolm Campbell again.

If you could buy 3 boards there? Which ones? You don't have to answer

Chris Garret single fin.
Joel Fitz channel bottom.
Something else, probably a single fin log.

I had to watch it again to see if I missed something, only saw one wave over 6 foot on the light blue board, all he did was take off and kickout. boards weren't doing him any favours in my opinion.steve shearer wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 8:27 amHe did fine in the bigger stuff. Most here wouldn't have paddled out.

7’0” Byrning Spears channel bottom
7’0” cb bonzer egg
6’5” replacement for my all rounder.

I’d like one of those Christenson midlengths. But not for $1300 odd.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
C bucket? I've fondled one at Onboard. Nice low rail, pulled in tail. Probably use it 3 times a year in Sydney. Nice but

I've been looking at a few Tolhurst boards lately.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Yeh they look nice. More of an all rounder with the square tail.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Yep. Rang Byron Onboard re their ‘massive sale’
Selected boards on sale starting from $500.
Christenson and Campbell NOT on sale.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Surprise!! Prbs 50 litre Channel Islands Pod from two years ago at 500 clams. Hayden Lewis makes some nice middies, think Onboard is his "agent"
Re: Just general surfing stuff
That pod will shatter if you look askance at it.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
I went to a fe shops looking at boards this arvo, a while since I’ve done that.
The choice of models and styles is mind boggling. All it left me wanting was a few thousand dollars to buy 3 or 4.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I held a 6'9" CI Black Beauty for a long time. Sleek, beautiful board which i think would only get a run a couple of times a year.
A couple of channel bottom Christenson's.
Lost V3, SA Face Dancer plus a few JS's.
I did wonder what happend to all these boards. Shapers release new models each year yet im doubtful shops would sell all the stock.
