Balangan, only went there catch up with friends, didn't expect a surf with the westerlies today but it was light. Not too bad 3 foot and crumbly with occasional bigger one. Happy with a surf to start the year

Went for the late...best surf I've had since I've been back. Heaps of fun. Dolphins catching waves...apparently there was a manta ray around as well.

Windy gutless - usual east coast summer stuff. Took out the log for a glide this morning, went tandem with the young fella for one and slid into a couple of foamy ones with the 18 month old in front of me. That would be her first waves notched up.

My first trip to Bali, I didn't understand the deal so paddled out from the beach. When I finally crossed the reef and paddled up to the takeoff, a bloke asked me why I didn't cough up for a boat. I had no clue.Cranked wrote:My sentiments exactlymarauding mullet wrote:Nusa Dua, solid and a bit lumpy but Jesus paddling Christ that place is hard work

I did the same thing at Kuta Reef.....but that's no big deal. Canggu in those days...two guys turned up carrying a tin canister with some Fanta and ice in it. Just rice paddies.

I don't mind paddling in and out there, its the non-stop paddling to stay in place that's the problem.channels wrote:My first trip to Bali, I didn't understand the deal so paddled out from the beach. Re: Where did you surf today ?
creased my magic little green board in a 1 foot closeout onto low tide sand this morning. i'm not overly stoked about it, to be completely honest.
now what do I do? I've had that baby for nearly 4 years! the last time I was this sad was when i thought i had prostrate cancer and allowed a doctor to needlessly finger me.
what's a good summer/ small wave board? I want it pretty much as an everydayer ... somewhere to go between my log and my 5'11"pintail.
maybe a chilli or a rusty? shit ... maybe even a van stralen fish like my esteemed colleague in the green room, el rancho? I am thinking of growing my hair out, which be a nice compliment to any fish behaviour.
