Accommodation near Lennox
I'm looking for options to stay overnight somewhere between Ballina and Byron on a regular basis, 2-3 nights during the week.
The objective is to surf, rather than commute back to the Goldie.
Have checked out caravan parks at Clarks and Broken Head, but that did not work out well so far.
Clarks was full and way too expensive, even outside of peak season, and Broken Head don't answer their phone and are closed by the time I turn up after work.
The tent park at Flat Rock is on the list to be checked out, and maybe the caravan park at Brunswick.
Any suggestions where I could rent a room?

Steve Shearer will give you lodgings for a packet of gudangs. Have to wash your own sheets though.

Let me think about it Mr Mik.
There's rooms to be rented in share houses if that suits?

That's what I'm after. A cheap room in a share house. It needs to have mobile phone coverage and non-smoking inside would be nice.steve shearer wrote:Let me think about it Mr Mik.

If you exclude bucket bongs from smoking then you'll be sweet.MrMik wrote: non-smoking inside would be nice.

The gold coast is worse for ice than the worst parts of Sydney.

Not much else to do if there's no surf. Although it appears to be better than it used to be.

The Flat Rock Tent Park turned out to be nice, but the shark attacks spoiled the surfing fun. No microwave or kettle but cheap ($22.- per night), with plenty of spots available in the off season.
This week I stayed at Broken Head Caravan Park for a night, but the weather was not so fine for camping.

Lake Ainsworth caravan park? Headlands Park at Skennars Head Rd adjacent to Boulders... though they may not be your cup of tea. Speaking of which, Shearer maybe better suited to match your compatabilities with share house options.
Flat Rock minus sharks has been good short term in the past...but who knows how long sharks have been there anyways

I saw a caravan at the old blues fest site and it was $120 a week.
I'm looking for the same thing if my lismore gig becomes regular. 2-3 nights a week around Suffolk - Lennox. I don't give a shit about sharks so maybe flat rock will be fine. Can I have a dog there, you know?

Nah, no dogs at any of the local parks.
Nearest one is South Ballina, which is where old Sydney Heroin junkies retire to.

tight rental market.

Cheers Shep. Yeah it's dire.
Some arsehole wanted $230 for a room, plus bills and wanted to charge $5 every time you used his washing machine. It was a 2 brm townhouse with no parking.
Wow, just wow Byron
