Re: Hernias
Off to the specialist tomorrow to get my hernia assessed.
Had a surf today. Have to take it fairly carefully but got a couple I was happy with.
Really notice not surfing much the last week or so.
Popping up being the main issue and initially laying down. Paddlings pretty good.

Re: Hernias
So, went to specialist. Ultrasound needed then possibly both sides done in 2 to 3 weeks after that.

Beanpole
You aren’t the room Yuke You are just a wonky cafe table with a missing rubber pad on the end of one leg.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: Hernias
Okay……..Post Op is definitely not as painful as I imagined so far. Mobility is better than expected. Need to work out a bit of a plan for exercise. Have to see the Doc in two weeks.

Re: Hernias
Took off the dressing for the first time today. Came up neater than I was expecting. Pretty well healed.

I’m taking beanpole’s silence as a “yeah mostly”
Re: Hernias
Probably less likelihood of a brain herniation than an inverted penis.

Re: Hernias
Didn’t see these…..thanks for asking…..yeah, looked pretty clean. It’s a bit raw from ripping the waterproof plaster off. I’ve got a decent scar next to my navel and two little ones a bit under that. Just put a bit of aloe Vera on it.
Just have to be careful bumping it if I pick something up…….plus not picking up anything too heavy.

Re: Hernias
Oh Ok, for some reason I was thinking it was in the groin area, but Mrs. Mullet here just informed me a hernia can be other places.

Re: Hernias
It’s in the groin area….as in about level with your bladder. So the bulge sticks out to the side and up a bit from your dick. It can strangle the vein going to your scrotum but basically it’s just a bit of the wall of your intestine ruptures so it sticks out.
The surgeon puts a probe into an incision near your navel, pumps gas into your abdominal cavity and then patches the rupture. Usually with polypropylene mesh. They cut a hole further down to insert the mesh. I got both sides done although one was not very noticeable.

Re: Hernias
Whoa, that sounds like a pretty intense procedure! I'm glad you were able to get it taken care of, though. Inguinal hernias can be really painful and uncomfortable, so it's good that you're on the road to recovery.
