Dbah is 2-3 foot now. Not sure you’d need the Brewer down your way just yet, Steve.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Magic Seaweed says Lennox is 6.5ft at 15 seconds and has awarded 5 stars.
Every Cnut and his dog are down here, literally the most crowded dawn patrol I've ever seen.
It's a very weak and slow 2-3ft.
One wave sets.
Sad.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Happy to be proven wrong but I am very sceptical about this swell event.

Where does MSW get it's call from?
According to Godsave they are forecasting/reporting some hypothetical open ocean data point which the common man then extrapolates back to his or her surf spot.
But where?
There's no buoy data to support their call.
It looks like made up computer gibberish to me.

Well the local here was pretty busy (with locals), then there was a 30min changeover for the work crew to leave then the steady stream of every cnut and his dog from pat Morton began unloading after been skunked up there.steve shearer wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2019 6:36 amMagic Seaweed says Lennox is 6.5ft at 15 seconds and has awarded 5 stars.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
MSW has 8ft at 16seconds.
By any reasonable measure that should be pumping surf.
tide has almost killed the weak 2-3ft surf on offer.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Maybe give it time? I’m sure it’ll deliver up there as Newcastle is 6-8 foot and Cronulla is 6 foot plus.
Regardless of the humoon here and now reports of MSW et al

Re: Where did you surf today ?
I'm sure it'll get to 6ft at some point.
looks likely the swell will arrive with gale force southerlies though.
did you get a piece of it Iggs?

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Just managed to snare a couple of super fun long rides at the point before that southerly blew it all to hell.
Not big, 2-3ft, but great shape and power.
I think a lot of energy is going straight to Newy, shouldn't be too much longer steve!

Re: Where did you surf today ?
I still think it's a couple of hours away and if it was only 2-3ft down there that does not give me hope.
glad I surfed the last few days. This could be a lay day.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Well, it's been blowing 50+ kms an hour westerlies for days here, so now that it is south I think it will come in a bit more seriously. But I was surprised by the lack of size too

Re: Where did you surf today ?
hmmm well close obs and surfing this morning, there was a fabulous pulse of incredibly straight lined energy between 8am and 10am. Looked for all the world like a building Hawaiian swell. Long interval, infrequent but you could time the sets to almost the second. 6-something on the sets but with more volume than that sounds.
Then over the next couple hours the pulse backed off, interval dropped a bit, more waves but less muscle.
Then the SSE came hammering in. I dunno if that wind is going to be all that psycho, there's a little bump in the isobars just off Sydney which is turning it more onshore than expected but that bump comes off later this arvo so the wind might back down and swing back SSW.
Looking at the winds in the source I reckon there'll be another pulse later this arvo, but tomorrow morning will be big and super consistent, maybe 8-10', good winds, that's in these parts anyway.
I think this swell has legs and will continue into Saturday, just dropping a bit every six hours or so from a peak sometime on Friday morning.
But the lines this morning under the fairly strong offshore were really beautiful.
