Just for nostalgia's sake, I'll throw in some classic Steve.

hate tail pads, they encourage nothing but overly tail based conservative thruster surfing.
Re: Midlengths
Board was tinted so not sure but it never looked dirty/grubby, and the colours always looked awesome underneath it. I wouldn’tve considered it but I got the board 2nd hand with it already on. I’m sure it could be cleaned pretty easy but yeah, it never appeared dirty. It’s a little thing but no wax is pretty damn handy. I remember the freedom of being able to throw it in the car without fear of getting wax everywhere, liberating .
I also thought it would irritate my hairy legs but it was fine.
Re: Midlengths
Wax for high line trims off the middle & cheater 5’s and to step back and carve off the tail

I’m not overly hairy but everything tears up my chest so I always wear a rashie or short John haha. Don’t recall having issues with it ever matepirate_agenda wrote: ↑Tue Feb 19, 2019 9:09 pmdoes that stuff tear up your chest though beery?Beerfan wrote: ↑Mon Feb 18, 2019 6:08 amBoard was tinted so not sure but it never looked dirty/grubby, and the colours always looked awesome underneath it. Re: Midlengths
i'm tempted. fricken hate wax in summer.
Re: Midlengths
I was a bit surprised how good it was to not deal with wax. Doesn’t melt in the car if you surf before work in summer, doesn’t get on clothes or in your leg hair.
Salty, yeah it’s not cheap. If the price came down I think many more people would get it
Pirate, if you tried it on one of your tomo boards you wouldn’t need much

Re: Midlengths
I was wax free for a while with the exposed cork decks and loved it. but it isn't as grippy as wax and I found it got slippery over time so I eventually started waxing them anyway.Beerfan wrote: ↑Thu Feb 21, 2019 5:22 amI was a bit surprised how good it was to not deal with wax. It also tore my chest and nipples to shreds.

With or without wood?
Balls are really whorled and creased. Hairy too.
Not sure if this makes them more hydrodynamic however.

Re: Midlengths
Have trawled a fair bit of this thread, not much on pure longboard replacements.
Looking for something for unshortboardable small days, but needs to be sub 7ft to stay in my car. I'm not interested in surfing it if it's over waist high.
Want to be able to compete with longboarders on the get in early ability, and be able to cruise on shin high waves is basically the only criteria. I normally ride short alternative performance boards from 5'0 to 6'0 but want this one to more about gliding in tiny waves.
Options in my head are:
- oversized mini simmons around 6'0 (anyone ridden a jim phillips jimmons?)
- 7'0 stretch IT style shape with a stinger between the feet and quads
- mid to high 6ft range single fin with flat rocker and plenty of foam
opinions?
