Water was in a tee and boardies. No chaffing. Ended the session getting hit by a chick's board. She was quite apologetic about the incident.

Well I took Friday off. Don't know what everyone else's excuse was. Forster itself was pretty dead. Blueys is out of control with cashed up Nth Sydney types and cafes to match.marauding mullet wrote: ↑Sat Mar 03, 2018 3:47 pmWhat’s going on, is it a long weekend in NSW? Or normal weekend up there these days?

Has been for about 400000000 years.
No offence Bpole but it seems you're from Bondi. Not exactly the slums of Calcutta.I'd say there's a fair bit of Eastern suburbs coin up there. Although I have a wealthy Eastern suburbs friend who bought a holiday house at Avalon. Big trip up the coast that one.

Thinking the surf comp at Manly might struggle today.

Your Nth Sydney toff is different to the Eastern Suburbs variety and a lot more Eastern Suburbs types go south rather than north. Ran into a pack down at Bendalong when I was there at Xmas.Thud wrote: ↑Sun Mar 04, 2018 8:19 amHas been for about 400000000 years.

The other thing I ran into at Forster were a lot of hard faced mid forties types. Not very happy go lucky up that way. Very popular for mates weekends away it seemed. Quite a few houses at the beach full of the above mentioned types with new hi aces and cartons of XXXX Gold.

Toffs. Different. How so? Not a challenge I'm quite interested to know.

Your Nth Side toff is a little less worldly plus there are such subtle differences as saying wagging rather than jigging. They have more in common with the Shires attempts at toffishness. Although the Shire doesn't really rate. Slightly more conservative as well.

Lower north shore more in common with Shire.

2-3 ft ripbowls. Nulla beachies. Walled up and fast. wind affected but still fun. Mid length for the win.

down the coast 3-4 foot and a few double overhead beach break A frames. Swell had some muscle this morning. It was glassy, no wind until about 11am. No currents or sweeps, just warm clear water and these punchy E/N/E sets. 6 of us, spread out along the peaks. was pleasant.

Never felt happier paddling into a close out today.

Wanda. Must have got in after you got out. It started off ok but there were lots of close outs after the first 30 minutes and conditions kept changing. Lots of people on one bank.
I only went to the local at low tide this week and there are lots of stretches between the pavilion and the south end that are just close outs.

Paddled out for the first time in a couple of months at Bondi. Would have been semi okay if it hadn't been so crowded. Enjoying the fish at the moment. That keeps me interested.

Surfed from 2-4pm. Plenty closeouts then also. But ya know, wait for the right one, pick your line etc. instead of paddling deep you had to position yourself wider as the rip on the rights was running north to south and pretty strong for its size. Too deep you’d just get faded.petulance wrote: ↑Sat Mar 10, 2018 7:12 pmWanda. Must have got in after you got out. Some of them had a decent shoulder and ran a fair length with a nice inside bowl to tear along. The midlength made things a lot easier than they otherwise would’ve been, shifty bumpy etc.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
After a long period of inactivity spaced with the infrequent demoralizing session i got my mojo back this morning. Shifty fullish & seemingly under powered for it's shoulder height + size & not really crowded, helped by the chaotic nature of the line up.
