Do they?
Oh, thanks Hatchie. I never noticed having lead such a sheltered life.
So that's like three feet?

Re: Just general surfing stuff
I had a teacher back in the mid 80’s in high school who was our industrial arts teacher and all round cool dude. His name was Keith Porter and he rode a ski. Always being dismissive of goat boaters at the time we viewed his choice of craft with amusement.
When we started surfing as a school sport he was our teacher. He blew everyone’s minds as he proceeded to do vertical reo’s and the odd air on his ski. I went from suspicion to idolatry very quickly. This guy was doing more on a wave than most surfers could at the time.
He took me out to Voodoo and Shark Island and had total respect from all the locals.
If a goat boater can pull into barrels at the Island and Vooey and make them like he did then hats off.
I often wondered what happened to Keith because he had a lot to do with how I turned out as a person.

we surfed the south side of sandon point a lot when we were grommets, it was called the bombie then i don't know about now seems like names change every time i go back, and there were always a few dudes on wave skis and the odd windboarder and i remember one guy in particular used to charge and rip it up but he seemed to hate us young surfers and always seemed to be shouting at us and cursing us as he paddled past. i wonder what the problem was.jimmy wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2018 9:32 pmI had a teacher back in the mid 80’s in high school who was our industrial arts teacher and all round cool dude. there was an Industrial technology Teacher Keith Porter at St John Bosco College until around 2016 (having been there for 'over 25 years'); then he moved to be Industry Partnerships Manager at La Salle Catholic College
So could be the same guy

Your Pyzel ghost review was a good read Steve. Better then the usual "yeah it was fun" dross that usually gets served up.

Cheers mate. It would be a massive coincidence if there were two Keith Porters teaching IA in the Shire.ctd wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2018 3:08 pmthere was an Industrial technology Teacher Keith Porter at St John Bosco College until around 2016 (having been there for 'over 25 years'); then he moved to be Industry Partnerships Manager at La Salle Catholic College

Re: Just general surfing stuff
Moving house the other day packing boxes I came across a jar full of biros in the back of a bookcase right down on the bottom shelf. Funny my son can never find a pen when it's homework time. Anyway for sure we will have pens galore on this trip don't worry about that, I'm going full quiver and then some.
