Did you get a chubby after meeting Iggy yesterday ?
The moving finger writes and having writ moves on ... now all thy piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel even half a line ... nor all thy tears wash out a single word of it.

Excellent glass jobs too.tonks wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2017 4:33 pmI have a 5'6 Lil Zappa from Muzz. It's quite similar in that it has a fairly parallel outline, it's a swallow tail quad with vee in tail, and has a hip in the outline (rather than a flyer). It looks as though the fin placements are similar too.buddy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2017 5:02 pmWell thats just fanning the flames isn't it, Yuke Hunt?Yuke Hunt wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2017 7:46 ambuddy wrote: ↑Fri Aug 18, 2017 7:15 amAnyone had experience with one of these? Murray is a highly regarded shaper, he has also worked closely with Bruce McKee in the past, and that board looks mighty fine.
It's the best board I've ever had...It's actually the first board I've had where I've thought I wouldn't change a thing for the next one. Obviously suited for smaller/softer waves... but if that's what you want it for, I'd def recommend at least going to have a look at it.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
tell me about it, I surfed heavy 10-12' waves by myself for an hour and a half this morning before a couple of the crew came out. Fcuk it was raw! But like, it's a Sunday morning, clean offshore, big and pumping and I'm in Australia's biggest city surfing by myself. What sort of sick miracle is this.steve shearer wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2017 3:40 pmSaw Doherty at the Point this morning.
Fcuking hell you must be the only person in surfing who hasn't moved up here Carroll.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Nick, I don't know why this surprises you.
I reckon there would be less than 500 surfers in Australia comfortable in heavy 10-12 foot waves and probably most of those would live in areas that get 10 foot plus way more often than Sydney does.

Thanks, alas, I was too slow. Board was sold. Had it in mind for clean grovel waves or when the pass is pumping.tonks wrote: ↑Sun Aug 20, 2017 4:33 pm

every man and his dog seems to of been able to get a day off work and all the old blokes come out to play.
Re: Just general surfing stuff
So Surfstich has the receivers in. More dirt for Beach Grit and the former owner of Stab. Interesting scenario attacking other sites and companies as a former owner. There's no doubt a bigger back story involving creative agreements and or money. Shed any light anyone...Carroll, BrainW, Shearer...?
I've read the Surfstich guy carry on about being attacked by his former partner, but he doesn't elaborate on why Stab is being hammered. Just a marketing tactic for Beachgrit? Got to be more.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
It's simple, Derek was a co-founder of Stab, then his co-founder Sam connected with a wealthy benefactor, Sam and the wealthy benefactor sorta nudged Derek doorward for a nominal sum, then hey presto! along came SurfStitch and their millions! Of which Derek didn't see any!
Beachgrit is a natural antagonist, a very funny one, so it will make fun of anything it can. It's really Chas not Derek. But Sam thinks it's Derek puppet-mastering Chas in order to hit back over those millions.
So good.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
stab was struggling at the time, uncertain future.
Derek saw an out with a payday attached and took it, good payday too.
No way of forseeing the impending surfstitch "liquidity event".
ergo, no harm no foul.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
surfstich have really done a number on the industry, huh?
Re: Just general surfing stuff
Ok. In that case Sam should stop the fk whinging like a bitch.
Carroll you've no doubt read the article where he was having a crack at you about enjoying Beachgrit.
He's obviously rattled by it. You'd think a founder of Stab could take his own medicine
