signs of life in the SPCZ.
models showing tradewinds and a broad area of tropical low pressure E of the Solomons.
GFS might have jumped the shark progging a TC to develop and track SE.
would b early but consistent with super SOI's at the moment.
it's a neutral pattern with schizophrenic tendencies.

what do you think of these upcoming/imminent tropical developments Don?
I'm talking to myself in here.
I'm intrigued by that rapid-fire trough system that forms off the NSW coast Fri......perhaps in response to warm SST's along the NSW coast.
might not get much surf off it but it could be a significant precursor sign for summer.

Anyone care to put an explanation to Sydney for yesterday and today? Thursday morning, weak and dribbly, coupled with 40 knots of offshore gusts and nothing really to speak of on the charts. By days end had materialised into 3- 4 foot of East/nor east swell that is still looking the goods today.

That would be due to the decent fetch of N/NE winds just off the east coast Thursday.

Yeah ... well next time you go swimming at the gay mardi gras remember not to eat all the lollies ... again.

The potential for flash flooding with these severe storms this week. GFS painting an interesting picture for late this weekend/early next week also but confidence is low on this ATM.
