Sorry, the game's afoot now. . . .
Re: Displacement hull boards
I see plenty H, just not sure what specifically it is I am meant to be sparking about.
Boats are boats and have a propulsion system and rudder of some kind, does that necessarily mean that a hull design migrates well to riding waves?

Yes and No.ric_vidal wrote:I see plenty H, just not sure what specifically it is I am meant to be sparking about.

The means of propusion and the movable rudder do change things
Re: Displacement hull boards
Not my way of doing things, H. On that you just have to take my word.huie wrote:ric_vidal wrote:I see plenty H, just not sure what specifically it is I am meant to be sparking about.

Just searching and not particularly a fan of 'hull' boards aesthetically at least, does not mean they don't perform at some level. As is always the case, depends on how one wants to ride a wave.
Re: Displacement hull boards
An off-set table taken from a boatbuilders half model is the basis for all cnc design....cad drawing gives the same result , just much quicker .......regarding planing and displacement , the only craft I can think of that is not a blend of both is a hovercraft......the true art is still in the shaping bay and knowing how to blend it all together properly.( which I dont know !!

Is that the top or bottom huie?
I like the look of it...what sort of changes are you making to the traditional mini-simmons design? Is this a first trial or something or have you been doing a few?

Right, there @rses would be toast if I was posting there, having a few points of order to serve on the B*ggers myself.
The official history of surfing's missed a fair bit by the sound of it :?
I see how your board relates to that new semi displacement hull you posted earlier. . . displacement up front planing in the back. Im doing it the other way around lol, well sort of
