just love this vid, was awesome year, got a few waves on the vid
im off to catch some waves on a mallibu
also that day was the day matty "guard " and i named cape solander "death"
it was heaving straight into a backwash infront of the cliff, pinching closed the barrel no escape.
some rock fishermen died that day after we warned them not to fish there.
that day no one surfed there, only the boogers knew about that spot.
then things changed...

At 2:40 that guy getting lip launched. How is he not dead? Or is he? That looked like he landed right about where the dry reef was. Nuts how some guys take a high line.
The wave at Curl Curl is so good they had to name it twice

Such appalling music though.
So bad, so bad. Totally re-hashed, done to death by just about every garage band, has gone beyond cliche. Not even talented enough to be punk.
Can't believe how often surfing and booger vids have appalling appalling appalling music in them. Just so out of synch with anything to do with the water, or breathing, or living, or dying.
Just beyond the pale.
as for the boogie riding, well, to each his own.

had a few kook times that day as i was taking off deep second reef to stay out of the contest area but as i said in the eyesight thread, i have a bad habit of pulling off waves that are makable because of sub par vision.
i have a memory of bailing off the back on a nice big one, and a few memories of not getting around the whitewash, but some good memories of getting shacked too, some good waves there i think are me, but its too hard to tell.
id be a w@nker to say they are me if i wasn't 100% sure

So...... are you the guy that looks like alistair taylor or wazza that tried to do a roll on a wave that broke way too big for you @ 2.25 :?
in answer to your question, i dont know.
3 people wearing helmets that day.
Alistair taylor in a white gath surfing in heats.
Warren Feinbeer white canoe helmet and white rashy in heats,
Me in a white gath helmet and 2 different boards due to free surfing all day and losing one.
looks like what i remember happening to me, i think its me, but its hard to see clearly. but i did bail off the back on a beast that i mistakenly thought was going to close out. if that's a roll and not a bailout, then its not me.
if you think its Alistair Taylor, you may be correct.. if you were in the channel or saw it clearer in a vid somewhere else, i will take your word for it.
