Re: Shark Island Challenge 2009 Webcast
looks to me like the comp is on? if so...
the SIC is officially LAME AS SHIT.
not saying the waves are shit, but certainly not how it should be - seems to be pinching, closing out, and inconsistent as f*k. the only good ones every 5-10mins are practically a one wave set.
SI is one of the earths true gems and the last few years have just been embarassing.

Looks about 4-6 foot. Some screamers coming through. Its really east so surge is nasty. High tide around mid day. Not doing much work today. ha ha.

comp's on hold now(wind's up and inconsistant - suposidly) . 10 days left in the waiting period. would be funny if they canned it today only to get no more waves
Re: Shark Island Challenge 2009 Webcast
Interesting challenge indeed, sets were so few and far between, was really hoping that huey would turn it on today. spewin!
In saying that glen thurston got an absolute smoker and jason finlay definitely has my vote for the worst wipeout so far!

but urgh, bad positioning and wave choice by so many riders.
really shows the difference between locals and blow ins.
i hope the judges took points off for spins on the shoulder.

I cant see this event being finished in anything other than underwhelming conditions.
