Howdy,
Ok, I'm almost set and ready to go on my much anticipated trip to Nias BUT...
Heres my deal,
Im heading into Kuala Lumpa then to Medan then to Nias and was wondering do i need to show a return ticket once i get into to Kuala Lumpa or only when i get into Indonesia (Medan)?
I'm only planning on staying for 30 days max in Indo, I have only booked my trip there so far and some one said I NEED a return ticket to show or they wont let me in.
Maybe Ill just buy the return even if i have to change the return date (for a little fee)
So yea, thats all thats needed to be organised and then Im set.
Cheers for ya tips as always.
Yew,

I don't think you would need a return to ticked in KL, you aren't staying in Malaysia as you are in transit so they aren't going to worry that you won't leave. If you are flying the same day you probably won't even go through Malaysian immigration. Also return tickets are usually cheaper than getting two singles, so you might as well sort that out now.
Hey there,me wrote:shonofear, have you booked a flight from medan to gunungsitoli (nias)? if so who through, went 3 years ago but had to go by ferry from sibolga because no flights seemed to be running?! thanks
Um yea, I didnt do the booking of the flight from Medan to Gunung sitoli but my friend did. I also got some good info from "Indo Surf and Lingo" about different ways to get to Nias from mainland Indo.

I cant find another page where it mentioned another even cheaper airline.Flights to Nias
This service is provided by SMAC air charter service but you have to book well in advance and even then no guarantee that they will hold your seat. Also surf boards are a problem with the small plane and sometimes they can want to charge an extra seat to carry them.
SMAC office in Medan Tel : 061 4564760

But you'd expect to pay around $80- 1 way i think.
Heres another golden link to all surf spots on Nias (thanks to Peter from http://www.indosurf.com.au)
