We had our May club comp today. Had to call an ambulance for one guy who came out of the surf very distressed.
Clutching at his head. Almost a replica of my Dad on Kirra beach in 1965.

Major bleed. Aneurysm.
Air ambulance to Brisbane for emergency surgery.
He’s a good friend of mine. Only 72.

He’s had prostate cancer, open heart surgery and cancer in the stomach. All clear of all of them.

Fuck I hope he can beat this too.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

I was out sailing in the swell on Monday evening, it definitely made it exciting.
I wasn't out sailing, but I was at the boat show, checking out the new Seawind catamarans ... and I've still got a boner !
Is that the 1170? It’s a magic boat huh? Have a 1200 right now. But the 1700 would be an upgrade. Actually bought one of the very first Seawinds off Richard when he was just a small time boat builder on the south coast.

He and I (and some ride along) sailed it up to the Whitsundays probs 20 years ago. We banked it leaving our first harbour and stuck there for 6 hours. 🤦🏻‍♂️!

He’s done phenomenal. Now all built in massive factories in Vietnam and Croatia .

He did. I’m guessing the blood vessel started to swell before bursting.
He would have got a headache which got worse over the few minutes it took.
He only started grabbing his head as he got to the top of the steps.

My Dad had warning headaches over a year or two. Back in 1965 they were put down to tension as he was kicking off his own business.
Then, on Christmas Day we were on the beach at Kirra and he just grabbed his head and collapsed.

And 10 years later my wife lost her Dad on Mother’s Day. 🤬

Anyway, here’s this morning’s update from my mates daughter.

From Noni

Diagnosis is a stage 4 basilar artery aneurysm that has ruptured causing a subarachnoid bleed. They said they can’t believe he was able to paddle back in.

We all got a chance to see him and tell him we love him last night.

ICU has kept him stable overnight.

Mums gone in this morning to do the consent for surgery.

They will try to find it and stop the bleeding with an angiogram this morning. If they can’t, they can attempt to do it in with open brain surgery. The risks are big, but they think it’s worth having a go.

That’s rough. Guy I went to school with died in later life from an aneurysm while snorkeling in Pottsville Creek.

You’re right. But I don’t guess it’ll get any better from here on.

My mother in law is 95, bright and on the ball, no physical problems. Her mother was the same, finally kicked the bucket when she was 104.
