Re: Where did you surf today ?
Waited for the tide to drop a bit this morning and had the best surf I’ve had for a while.
Hit Manly yesterday.

Yep, my sons idea. He drove. Wouldn’t have bothered myself but it was fun. Takes about 35 min on the weekend.
Still stoked about todayssurf. Must have got about 8 set waves.

Smaller and more crowded. School holidays. Got three I was happy with.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Conditions have been picture postcard perfection lately. Not a drop of water out of place, colour tones perfect, water temperature just right, some times not even any crowds, a gentle offshore zeffer caressing the faces

I've never surfed at Bondi but watched from the beach a few times.
But whenever I surf at Happy Valley I get a definite Bondi vibe.
No idea why.
Got a few fun ones amongst the holiday crowd this morning.
One left went so far I thought it was taking me to North Bribie.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

And here I was feeling pleased with myself because I didn't comment

Re: Where did you surf today ?
It’s usually pretty easy to read the crowd and most learners sit too far out for their ability. I wrote a few other specifics and then deleted it Bondi actually reminds me of South Beach Kingscliff, Fingal or any other exposed south facing back beach on the East Coast. There’s three or four specific banks that vary in quality but tend to break the same when they are good. Deep gutters with abrupt take offs half the time.Trev wrote: ↑Wed Sep 28, 2022 12:51 pmI've never surfed at Bondi but watched from the beach a few times.

Thats a very odd comparison, seeing as the topography couldn't be any less similar.Beanpole wrote: ↑Wed Sep 28, 2022 1:47 pmBondi actually reminds me of South Beach Kingscliff, Fingal or any other exposed south facing back beach on the East Coast. What, South Kingy and Bondi?…..do go on. Not talking about the reef. You can insert Ben Buckler for that. No it doesn’t break like Cudgen Reef.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Finally got out there this week and managed to catch a few (water warmer than expected).
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Yeah yeah you grew up there. But other than facing south. Bondi and South Kingy couldn’t be any more dissimilar.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Exactly ... apparently beanpole gets his topography mixed up with his typography.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Rightio, fellas. I will say that Bondi is better than South Kingy surf wise. Apart from being south facing exposed beach breaks with rippy gutters that tend to close out over head high they have nothing in common topographically. I hope Jimbos not basing his claims on how many burger joints there are on the main drag.
Bondi is actually more like Curly or The Farm.
South Kingy is like every stretch of open back beach from Noosa to Victoria.

So, it's shit then?
Great morning down here, loads of waves coming through for a very early crew. Consistent, lots of east in it. Scored a smoker on my last one to the sheds! Water- cold.
Re: Where did you surf today ?
Spiked overnight up here but by first light it had dropped back to what it was yesterday.
Still, offshore and fun. Longish rides and despite the school holidays and long weekend, not crowded.
Hit the water about 5.10am for a bit over 1½ hours.
