What opportunity have local surfers missed out on?
If there’s one thing older locals hate more that kooks at their local break it’s peeps who can surf them under the table. So I guess the answer is humility.

Meh, shame for the community at large.

Country Soul?
Once upon a time. Have you seen the houses on the point.
Up there with The Farm as paradise lost.
You may as well say Burleigh is country.
I just looked at Lennox Real Estate. Bigger problems than a few weeks out of the water. That’s a shame. Council has a bit to answer for. Beautiful pieces of land up for subdivision sale. Now that is a fucking cause worth fighting for.

Didn’t realise how big and developed the place is. Not sure what the WSL fuss is about, it’s no quaint country town and it’s pretty expensive to boot!!! Here it’s been portrayed like a small village and BHP are proposing off shore oil rigs. Fucking hell.

Where does the self confessed pro surfing tragic sit in all this steve? Will you be taking up cudgels with your oppressed brothers and sisters at all the other tour stops? Or is there a certain type of break that’s appropriate for WSL jamborees and for whose locals you care not a jot?
It's a good question and I plan to address it at length.

but I will say, l've always been an outsider to this circus. I'm not a true believer, cheerleader or PR spokesman for pro surfing.

found out some interesting info today about other areas that have rejected pro surfing.

for some bizarre reason these stories never get told in the surf media.

I know this only because it is happening in my backyard.

And the more I realise the way they go about it, this story would never have broken if not for a whistle-blower.
it would all have been behind closed doors, and an announcement made.

Exactly.

thats one of the weakest arguments in support of the comp.

Groms are not growing up in Portland or Streaky Bay.

There's a full scale CT an hour up the road.

the biggest Grom comp in the world (now WSL sanctioned) is held in the winter school hols every year right in town.

Lennox already is a pro surfing venue. Hours and hours of footage of pro surfing was shot there last winter. It just wasn't fenced off and turned into a private competition venue.

There's no "won't someone think of the kids" argument here.

ps some of your weakest and worst trolling efforts Thuddy.

Lol. I am surprised about the size and cost of the joint and the parcels of large land being sold.

Enjoy your waves Shearer. I just wanted to see JJF, Medina and co surf it.

But can I ask, if you already had all this pro surfing going on what exactly is the issue with the WSL event ? I won’t reply, just tell me.

Getting back to the Bondi Air Comp. arguably one of the lamest comps ever staged.
It actually looked better on TV than live. Glad they ditched that.
Can we have some input on other worst ever comps?

Absolutely. All surfers are blond, at least the good ones. Right?

Not sure if dark hair equals ethnic?

What’s to stop anybody from being out in the line-up during a surf comp at any location in Australia? Isn’t anything below the high tide mark crown land, including inshore waters?

I think on the Gold Coast there is a bathing reserve that they can police and arrest you.

doubt that applies elsewhere.

Most interesting thing to me after reading Nicks story on Surfline was not a single direct quote from the WSL.

I understand why Starkey won't return my calls but to not speak to the longest running surf journalist covering pro surfing speaks volumes about their chaotic approach.

Your car would be toast.
And if you ever dared to show up there again, yep, they'd bash you.
Or drown you.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.
