I've decided to turn my old powder board into a splitboard.
Going to get it water jet cut, if possible.
So I actually started doing this today, but just with a hacksaw.

It's a very wide board so I'm not worried about losing a bit with the dodgy cutting.

Going to try and do it on the cheap, using part of the Voile DIY kit.
It'll be heavy and ugly but will give me an introduction.

I anticipate multiple fuckups and additions to the Blokey thread.

The hacksaw was just to get through the metal rails.
I spent most of my time building an MDF template that bolts into the existing bindings to keep the cut straight.

Might get one of those pull saws.

After further consideration of a number of factors I've abandoned the DIY splitboard project and turned it into a snurfer instead.
Been scoping out lines in local parks.

My splitboard arrived today.
Man I'm glad I didn't keep trying to DIY.

Unfortunately my sofa is quite tasteful so I took the shots on the crappy carpet.

Never heard of a split board before.
Be good when a tree jumps out in front of you.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

White can be a frustrating colour for skis. Doesn't apply to boards as much though.
No, it'll be an avalanche anchor tearing my leg off at the knee.

It's from Utah, offshore, think the artist might be a Canadian guy they sponsor.

What’s the point of this compared to a normal snowboard?

Yeah, and walk out of flat areas back to the lift, or the car.
I've done a lot of postholing and swimming through powder.

You add skins, poles and specialised bindings.
