Fins - recommendations

Post by kateontour » Fri Jan 16, 2004 12:02 pm

I want to by new fins as a gift for someone, they currently have the Manta Aussie ones which are a bit stiff, heavy and not very soft.

Can anyone recommend comfortable but still powerful fins?

I've heard the Redleys are soft but haven't seen any in Manly. :?:

out of the ones I've tried I say hydros followed by mantas and then churchills are a last resort, they twist your foot.

Flippers

Post by Abzy » Tue Jan 20, 2004 5:42 pm

Bodyboarders surf co at narrabean would be the best place to pick up any kind of flipper. Their at 1421 pittwater road narrabean, big blue building on the left. Go either redleys or churchills, their both good damn flippers! or vipers are also really sic.

Yeah BodyBoarders Surf CO. in Narrabeen has them, there $90 from memory. BUt ask nicely and they might give you a free sticker to go on your board as well. If you have no idea where it is just drive along pittwater road and you will see it, its next to the park and there is a carpark right next to it. COincidence i think not! This place is meant to be visited, support the industry that supports you!! Buy from the specialist shop!

i recently got a pair of stealths, only cause they came free with my new board at SDS, thinking that they wouldn't be any good, but, to my surprise, they have been the most comfortable pair of fins i have owned or wore, outstripping blades, churchills, hydros and vipers by far. my brother wears redleys and he reckons they are awesome, so i going to recommened redleys or stealths.

She bought Redleys and loves them - lighter, more comfy, no sand collecting in the toes and faster! Well worth $90.

Anyone wanna buy some Manta size M for $30?

Fins - anyone tried POD?

Post by beach_defender » Tue Feb 24, 2004 9:19 am

Have any of you folk tried POD fins? I looked at them at the Surf and Dive expo but the shape of my old and battered feet don't seem to be compatible with the fins. Other than that they looked pretty good. (I've tried Churchills and Kapola ans like both)
