Since anyone can see this, I fully agree. Go surf winki and bells people. I mean there’s a CT event there so it must be good. And you can tell people you surfed there. And it was in a Hollywood movie. Give Beacon and the whole 13th beach stretch a miss. Crapola.

Here’s the outline of today’s gumtree purchase.
Will Webber hot tub.
Will be interesting.
The bloke waxed it up, paddled it out, knew it was too small for him and paddled it in.
It says it’s 6’6 20 1/2” 2 1/8” and 33L but it feels heaps chunkier to me with the big rails and scooped deck.
Opposite to my experience with the pyzel earlier.
The pyzel felt like it could be a magic stick in the underarm test.
This didn’t.
But worth the experiment for $380 for an essentially brand new board and I have no idea how it will go.
Not sure if I’ll go the whole hog with the recommended curved quad fins for another $250 odd.

Picked up this as a step up.
6'7" x 21(?)" x 2 7/8".
Can't find my tape measure and the dimensions on the ad were all wrong.
It's meaty, and carries a lot of foam forward of centre.
Should paddle well! Will probably end up being too big for me and traded to a buddy that is 30kgs heavier. For $250 it was worth a chance.

Slight single into moderate double.
Full rails, with a hard edge starting a long way forward, almost at the wide point.

Anyone recommend some Futures fins? I'm a little over 80kgs in my winter gear, mainly surf off the rails and prefer smaller fins than typical.
Will be surfing this in 6-10ft long period non-barreling waves.

AM-1's are pretty idiot proof Boo and should be easy to find used.


I like bigger fins and with the width of that tail block and overall width (21) and expected usage I would recommend AM-2's.

Also easy to find used.

I've ordered some AM-1s as they were on special and apparently made out of recycled fishing nets.

I hated the futures SEA AM1 copies I used.
But might just be SEA fins are shit.

I like the jjf but I use the large

The recycled net fins are more rubbery and less responsive than solid glass or hex core.
