3rd generation 'Mushroom' 5'8" x 19 1/2 x 2 1/4 Fangtail (why not?)

Made for 3-6ft...........My favourite board right now

Really love the look of that outline, and very pro finish! Shows what might have been possible had I been more patient... and less time poor :/. Similar dims to my last effort, except I added an inch to the width and really pulled in the tail. Rails are also really hard through the last half, length / thickness is about the same ( maybe a tad thinner on mine ). Don't look too closely at the white sprayover... it'll reveal just how desperate I was to get the damn thing finished! Would love to do it over, identical shape but with a lot more attention to detail.

Timmy, its a little ripper, lovin the way it feels, not better really but different, makes me surf snappier and quicker ( feels like it anyway ), ...like the look of that fun little number you copied, who was that for mate ???
for Sunny Coast waves ?...the carbon railed one is 5'11" x 19" x 2 1/2" ( cut down from a 6'3" I shaped but didnt love ( maybe it was sitting on my rack too long and I was a little inspired to shape one day and there was nothing else to tinker with , so being for me, well, the pencil and templates came out and an hour later it was now a 5'11.....anyway, its a stringerless PU blank, epoxy resin, was initially gunna do it with some carbon-kevlar rails but misplaced the carbon-kevlar so ended up just carbon...
but like I said, love the way it feels, lively and fast off the top, a whippiness diff from PU-PE...glassed with 1 x 4 bottom, 1 x 4 deck with patches, sat wrapped up along time before sanded, tuff for this glass ....

Nice! Something about stringerless boards, with the carbon rails. They just look sexy. Any particular reason you went for set fins on this one Mark?

That copy was for a guy who surfs up this end of the coast. He'd been trying all different kinds of small wave boards, but kept going back to this old one he loved. It had a flat into vee bottom, with deep double concave going through the vee and out thru the tail past the flyer. I basically kept the rocker and contours the same, and just refined the foil and the forward outline.

I agree about Robzig's board, looks sweet. I'm about to do a compsand shape similar, will prob set it up so it can be ridden as both quad/tri. Will demo it out, as there are a few crew up here who want to give it a try.

few reasons...firstly, my glasser is really good at making fins and I dont have enough of his hand foiled fins , 2ndly, at time of this one being wrapped up, I was tired of trying diff fins too,I kinda like the good ol days when you got a board with fins in it and you just surfed it, got used to it and made it work....

ive never chan_ed the set that came with my quad, cant see any reason why mark as they work
