Got a date for my knee op.
October 1.
Following an mri, we’re going with just a partial replacement.
Medial only.
The lateral joint is “like new” so no kneed (see what I did there
) to disturb it.
This guy. Does it robotically and doesn’t disturb and muscles, tendons etc.
Had a CT and more specific X-rays on Friday which lets them actually prepare the insert for my joint. Fascinating stuff.
I’ll make an appointment with my physio guy next week to introduce some pre-op exercises.
Hopefully just two nights in hospital.

Job done.
Started at 5.30 last night.
No pain (yet).
I’m to expect some in a couple of days.
I’m finding no discomfort walking.
No limping. Which apparently you have to watch out for because your muscle memory says, “limp”.
I can walk without crutches but they want me to use them for a few days.
Looking good for now. Hopefully that’ll continue.

No painkillers.
Got a little nerve blocker needle inserted just above the knee.
A gentle feed with a boost button if I need it.
Not an opioid apparently but I really don’t think I need it at all.
