Hawaii and LA

Post by Beanpole » Sun Mar 03, 2019 7:23 am

Looks like we are going to LA and around in September. We've been thinking it could be a better option to buy cheap return tickets to Hawaii and Domestic return tickets to LA from there.
Any advice?

No, always plan to and then go to Bali cause it's so much cheaper. This is specifically to catch up with people in the States so the Hawaii bit is an add on if possible.

If money’s not the issue, I’d definitely do the Hawaii stopover. Honolulu’s a bit of a cringe, think Gold Coast on steroids, but it’s cool to see Waikiki. I hired a 10ft mal, paddled out to one of the outer reefs and had a ball. It was only 2ft or so but clean, warm and fun. And obviously it’s worth checking out the North Shore. Car hire is cheap. Food is cheap (by our standards). And accommodation can be as cheap as you need it. It’ll break up the journey to the mainland as well. That can only be a good thing.

Yeah, that's what we thought. However, the other factor was you can get the odd return ticket for $600 that time of year. Don't know what a domestic flight costs from Hawaii to LA then though.
