Well isn't this topical... Had my yearly skin check end of September - have had a melanoma removed on arm and leg over the years - and Miss Pig said get him to look at that - I'm what? - "that on your eyebrow". At 62 I try and never look in the mirror so had never noticed some random pink spot - which was growing by the day incidentally.

Doc's checking me over and says anything else and I go ah yeah this - points at eye - and he's hmmm... Biopsy straight up which was sent to Brisbane then on to Sydney because they couldn't ID it. Results lost in the mail whatever and I'm thinking no news is good news so when two weeks ago I ring doctor to get a new asthma preventative puffer script (the only drug I'm on) I said what happened to that bit you hacked off he said duh hang on I'll phone back.

Fast forward to Tuesday and I'm in hospital in Lismore losing half my face (exaggeration) Excision of a spindle cell carcinoma (I'd never heard of it either) with full thickness skin graft and now on home detention washing down cookies and Endones with Gentleman Jack. :-?

Anyway better to go through life with a rough(er) head than leaving a good(ish) looking corpse

All the best with it Merks.
Got a mate up here who lost half his jaw and teeth on one side when they started following a lump on his lip.
Years later, he’s clear, thanks to some wonder drug he got into the test program for. Think it’s now used widely.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Thanks gents- just posted this a reminder to get things checked no matter how innocuous.

And yeah Trev - my best mate I bowl with here - might have told the story - after I had a melanoma taken out he said he's never had a skin check.

Off he goes and next day is in Brisbane getting something hacked out of his back. They never followed that up. 18 months later he's feeling crook - off to hospital and gets a section of intestine removed and is riddled with tumors.

They gave him two years three years ago. Immunotherapy has saved his life. He's about 50.

Ten years earlier and before that was discovered this would have been a different story...

Immunotherapy. That’s it.
My mate was one of only two from I think, the PA Hospital who got into the first human trials. Otherwise he had less than 12 months. That had actually told him to go home and set his affairs in order.

Yeah Trev turns out it really is a miracle drug as such.

Funny that how modern medicine actually works - though I've had my Byron cooker mate up here going don't get surgery just rub this weed on it. And gargle some bin juice or some shit

Well my nose scabbed over then I went surfing and it came off.
Didn't realize until I got out and had blood running down my face.
This was about 3kms from a white shark feeding ground/elephant seal colony.
Looked pretty rough on my work calls today, fortunately they were with Australians.
