There’s a crew of rippers at a skate facility in Currumbin, Level Up. The kid Buddy mentions plus a couple of others. Skaters from that place cleaned up nearly every division of the King of Concrete a few weeks back and the Bowlzilla comps.

bought a deck and set of bearings today. deck is 9.81 wide, bearings are larger, 6 instead of the usual 8, meant to be faster. got a pair of 169 indy trucks and spitfire 98A wheels already. will probs kit it up next week and get back into bowl skating in the evenings now DLS is done.

Just got back from Macquarie fields bowl. Been years since I skated it. Legs felt like jelly for the first half hour then dialled in pretty quick. No smashed beers bottles, bogan turds or melted wheely bins this time. But an OJ bong nearby and penis graffiti as to be expected.

Skated the new Rockdale bowl last night. Lights but not so bright. About 7 feet at the deep end with a bit of vert, dropped in easy enough. Managed some frontside grinds on the shallows, and vert backhand kick turns in the deep end, front side turns feel freaky high in the deep as the walls curved. Felt out a couple of different speed lines, figure 8s. Pretty fast and smooth bowl, look forward to going again soon.

Almost looks like a wooden salad bowl with that lighting.
Those walls remind me of the way they cut halfpipes in the snow in Japan in the early 2000s, not steep enough but fun to slash.

Dog Town is all time.
Perfectly describes how a counter culture can become infected with commercialism but, hard heads remained.
Tony Hawke and Kelly Slater should burn in hell
