Welcome at casa BA gents. I'll make you a po'boy and put on the Chardy.
Is that in Torquay or G-Town?
It’s in Geelong. Waurn Ponds. I’ve got to give it to our council. There’s great skateparks all over town.

It blows me away how good skaters have it now. Remember the 80s? Council's and anyone else paying attention hated skateboarders and wouldn't dream of building a facility. Ply and other materials were stolen from building sites in the wee hrs and illegal ramps built in the reserves and crown land around my area.

Definitely. I was big into ramp skating in the 80’s. Only proper ramp was behind Rip Curl in Torquay. And it was always packed. Friends used to steal wood from building sites to make ramps. They were never any good and pretty dangerous.

It used to be one of life’s simple pleasures to approach a skater and have them try to impress you with a stunt on the curb only to see them land flat on their arse as you walked past. Doesn’t seem to happen as much these days.
