I'm assuming arm injury based on bite location. Hope he keeps the arm.

After the Greenmount attack, it can happen anywhere.

Looks like doctors have saved his right arm - seems there were doctors on the beach/area which helped a lot.

I read today that the force of the “nibble” broke his arm as well as butchering his arm. Just goes to show that even a non fatal encounter is fucking serious.

Hope the young fella recovers ok.

I follow the Shark Smart DPI fisheries tagging handle on Twitter and there were a string of notifications of a tagged white shark detected around Forster and S/w Rocks areas in the early hours of Sunday and Monday mornings.

All DPI receivers between Hawkes Nest to Ballina have been going off. Forster especially.

Comment from a woman named Karen on our local FB page about the whale this morning…

“All gone this morning not even a piece of blubber to be seen Must of dragged the whale out last night around end of those rocks and blew him up or gone with the tide !
Isn’t it a dodge tide it’s a full moon ? 🐋 🦈

Yes mate, a bit spooked, but alright. Thanks.
As a small village the Emerald people would be doing it pretty tough. Condolences to them and RIP young fella. 🙏🙏🙏

The ocean has been super active of late. Dolphins everywhere, bait balls everywhere, birds diving them, various pelagics ripping through them. Nobody in the water around these parts today. Might give it a miss for a bit.

There's a heap of shark activity along the NSW north coast at the moment.

We've been seriously looking into relocating down that way in a couple more years ... cash in and retire type stuff. Emerald Beach is high on my list of favourites too.
