Don't know, maybe seals. Attack was definitely at Walkers Rock beach, just saw the news footage of the search operation. They found the board, with a bite.
This is an old pic of a bigun caught on Kangaroo Island before the were protected, probs 18', suspected to maybe be "Big Fred" well known to Tuna boat crews (of which I was one) around Greenly Island near Elliston.

Back at work today after a bit of leave. My boss was there. He'd surfed earlier that day. Was there with his son who took part in a school surf comp
Up where I am now, he took a couple of new employees out on the boat. He dived. I asked if he'd been edgy. The answer was, "Yes"
I've been out with him a few times. If you spot a white, start the boat and rev hard 3 times. One time a few months ago we were sent footage of a huge white trailing a boat within a few km of where we were. His shark shield wasn't charged, but he went in anyway. My vigilance went up a level

So gnarly. For some reason I wouldn't have thought the middle east would have shark problems alongside all the other stuff they have to deal with, but jeez those Tigers get around.

My mates dad was a captain for cargo ships years ago and they did live goats and sheep etc, sailed a lot around Egypt and when the animals got sick would throw them overboard, the sharks went fucking nuts for them.
Not suggesting thats why there are a lot of sharks. Just that they are there
