Why would you stop in the colder months? That’s when the surf is good.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Everything is relative.
It's obviously colder than summer.
I surf first light when conditions are best. Crowd factor, offshore winds etc.
The cold doesn't worry me, nor does it seem to worry the other regulars.
We've had a few single digit early mornings with brisk souwesters in the last couple of weeks so maybe "feels like" 3 or 4.

I would use boardies and a rash shirt if I was surfing with the latte crowd but I'm normally home before they arrive. Most sessions are 2 hours, rarely less than 1½.

There are certainly people you don't see in the cooler months.
Except during the southern states school holidays. #*!

For instance we'll have a club comp tomorrow. First heat 7am. I might use a spring suit if it's really cool but at that time more likely just boardies.

Comerong Island beach breaks. 3foot plus, offshore and flawless. Not a soul in sight. Angular banks, rights reeling through like a point break, lefts breaking top to bottom. bagged tonnes.

Couple of factors
Daylight hours are 4-5 hours less than summer which condenses the crowd.
South swells limit the breaks compared to east swells which condenses the crowd.

To tell the truth eggs are one thing I avoid buying when I’m grocery shopping. So you may say I’m an intermittent egg buyer who usually lets someone else buy them.
