Getting a park in Byron is by far the hardest part.

The Pass has been insane all week.

But I've been happy surfing chunky, side-shore Lennox.

Getting waves at snapper isn't as hard as people might think, but dodging the flotsam and Jetsam in the process is fucked up.

Amazing how few bother when there’s clean waves at the pass and gatta.

On sunday arvo I paddled out at the local, a southish facing break.
Pretty solid, workable conditions in the light northerly.
As I took off on my first wave that big southerly front blew up instantly in my face.
I came straight in and drove to the point in my wetty to get a few before people were on to it.
And then the rain came too and I’d already committed to going the goat track way.
Was so muddy and slippery had to slide down half of it on my arse.

Got some fun waves though.

Yeah. That's what my mates reckon.
It's what keeps them going back.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

I’m basically thinking about it from a mal riding point of view. I doubt I would catch a wave on my fish.

It's the joy of my surfing life.

But it's a hard paddle out, not very "pretty".

Great fun though.

Ended up out there by myself this week and came in because I didn't want to surf alone.

Bondi was very pretty this morning but wasn’t really doing it properly. Started to look better as the tide started to drop but the offshore really picked up. Trying to paddle onto the bigger sets was like running through a car wash.

I don't anymore, feels too sharky for my tastes.

I'm always hoping for someone to join me.

So good. Surfed a place I’ve been wanting to try out for years, a big left that breaks off an island. Wind was pretty bad for it, cross shore in a westerly I now know, but crowd was zero.

Which sucked, as I had no idea wtf I was getting into, it was easy 6 foot on the bombs with heaps of power. I was quite nervy. Luckily, a friendly local paddled out. We ended up being total brine bros, hooting madly as we scored a clutch of 5-6 turn bombs in 40 mins of pulsing sets.

Dudes were watching, so it got busier, but it sorta dropped a bit and the wind got gnarlier. Paddled in for a well deserved beer with a smile on my face.
