Look at Henry Head and Bare Island in the background. Malabar must have been going off.

My thoughts too.

Hey Puuri, I think I recall you saying you used to bodysurf or bellyboard it back in the day? Ever take it on at this size?

Quite a few years back, I surfed Malabar during one of those crazy, big, south swells that leaves most places a little too out of control. Even with a good sized swell, I don't really rate it as a decent wave.

Surfanimals, how was KP? And was the bay breaking?

At least he had a go - more than I can say for those self-appointed custodians of "Ours" ("Ours" when it's not BIG that is).

I'd also like to know what KP & BI was like if you got to looking.

KP and Bay were not breaking yesterday boys BUT I had the Bay this morning with 5 others and the most perfect 2-3 foot walls I've ever surfed in there.

Got one from Cabbage to Maianbar Spit - 15 minute paddle back out !

But the river water was crazy cold !

NO. (an infrequent novelty wave at best when better and more consistent breaks are available).

it goes ok for the first section with the possibility of a tube on take off and maybe one hit up after it, and then it it promptly becomes the most boring fatback bottomless gronk of a wave you'd ever want to see let alone surf..."nup - fuggit... it's crap"...
with an inside section as weak as a Noosa summer dribbler.

Is this it ?

Only got these in the background of some of the Solander shots but it certainly packs a punch from what I've seen from my side !

Keen golfers know one of those breaks very well ......
