Bondi Beach Pics

Post by bc » Tue Jan 01, 2008 9:29 pm

Bondi had some surprisingly nice waves.
-long left if you could make it through the crowd,
-nice right into the flags for the lids and softies
-fun smaller waves by the kids pool
-a couple of guys trying ben buckler, but not really big enough.
looked to be huge at Tama, but a few guys out

And a big thank you to those friendly lifesavers who kept shooing those fibreglass board riders out of the best take off spot leaving it for those with a softie in the quiver
Went for one this morning but it was a bit small and they told everyone they had 10 minutes to move down the beach because they were moving the flags. Happy New Year.

I counted 60 surfers on Bondi's middle of the beach lefthander for the late on Tuesday , 58 couldn't surf. But hey, usually its that many surfers on a Bondi closeout, at least the left courtesy of the big NE swell has a decent shape, a rare sight at Bondi.

Revo - first pic was from a friends pad on the end of Ben Buckler.
Not massive, but nice enough wave if you can ignore the crowds.

Fuck Bondi today. It sucked!!
Yeh, and it'll be much the same til after Australia Day. That time of the year here when you gotta bunker down a bit hey. Combo of peak backpacker season (is every Wicked van in the country here atm?), school holidays, xmas surfers, etc etc.

:D :D :D :D Yeh I noticed that a bit too.
I think they were mainly concerned with fibreglass boards. Some of which were totally pushing it by surfing the rights into the flags.
I got the impression the lifeguards were cutting everyone a bit of slack due to the conditions. As usual it was abused.

I loved the core type alpha males trying to get agro with all the tourists and kooks. Fellas if you were really core youd be taking the drop at tama not hassling kids and old farts on softboards :D for waves in front of the flags.
