Looks like heaps of fun but whats that buoy doing in the lineup on those rights? What happens when the swell gets bigger, wouldn't that get in the way?

Great pix Rhythm
I was there on Aug 7, surfed Imposibles 8'-10' and perfect lines, like your 3rd pix. Where was pix 3, Ulu? Would have been nice to score some rights like you, but couldn't be bothered moving from Impossibles out my front door. I hadn't been to Bali since 1979, when there was only Kuta, dirt roads and you'd leave your board under bushes at Ulus, but despite the development and traffic the waves are still great, I'll be going back SOON.

Yeah but that's only about 4-5', what about when its gets 8'+ unless the lip just gets more slabby'er and thicker with bigger barrels with the wave staying in the same place i could see that buoy becoming a problem.

But you were there and you would probably know better than me but how far from the wave was that buoy approx.?

Just up from Ulu actually, Im sure you know the one :)
Ulus was solid that day but to full when we went, pic 3 was taken on the 8th Aug.

Yeah ok, not to sure about 8+ but from the pics below you can see that they are pretty close. So maybe it can become a problem.

Haha looking at pic 15 you can see that dude is about to run over the rope between the buoys so it looks like a bit of a hazard, especially if you stack it on a cutty and hit the ropes at speed but anyway looks like you had a great trip and I'm gonna start saving up for next year.

Were the crowds very busy over there(how many out?) and if so were there waves that were out of the way that you could get to with only a few out?
