Re: White Horses - new surf mag
So I put my money where my mouth is and bought a copy. Not bad, some interesting little stories in there, and even my wife commented that some of the photos were 'nice' (and take it from me, thats a compliment).
I cant say that I would be forking over $20 all too often, but it was a nice little long-weekend time filler.
How often is it going to produced?

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Re: White Horses - new surf mag
On the weekend I read two articles in White horses. …one by Stu Nettle and one by Nick Carrol. I found both articles to be a bit self serving and I found myself having to put the magazine down and run for the vomit bucket..
Nick Carrol’s article was all about how he could have pulled the hottest chick and how he became a national surf champion with 8 surfers in Australia.
Stu’s piece was all about how he took the biggest waves on his head and how he survived a massive hold down only to worry about the money for ear drum repair.
Please …I’ve passed the magazine onto one of Sydney’s best known shrinks for assessment.
I think these people can be helped....but i hold grave fears.

well if you can just build the vomiting episode into a full blown case of bulimia, you might just lose those excess kilos at last
Re: White Horses - new surf mag
I actually liked the NC articles. I didn't think the point of that article was that NC became Australian champion at all - I thought it was a very nice short story. I can't remember the Su Nettle story off hand.
I left the mag overseas but I thought it was pretty good.

I liked the one were Nick decided he was over surfing and was going to concentrate on clubbies and knitting. It showed real depth and maturity

Any chance we could get Reg on the beach in the lycra after downing a Protein shake?

Re: White Horses - new surf mag
Bought a special deal of two surf mags for junior while up the coast. Absolute crap including some moody northern beaches type male "models" who obviously deserve a range of smacks to the face.
On return grabbed White horses again and still found more content I hadn't read properly before. Much better value.

Yeah. I'm still reading mine. Pick it up every few days and read another story or two.
Still reckon the cover pic is awesome.
