Decent waves in Santa Cruz lately. Quite a few 4 - 6ft days in the sunshine but it has tailed off now.

Been out three times since Sunday, I've earned myself dinner at In-n-Out Burger tonight!

I was out sailing in the swell on Monday evening, it definitely made it exciting.

I wasn't out sailing, but I was at the boat show, checking out the new Seawind catamarans ... and I've still got a boner !

Those sure are nice boats. And I'm partial to a multihull.

Nice boats. I had a good look at the Hanse 460 too ... mono's have come a long way and the Hanse designs are amazing, although I'm not a big fan of the helms being so far back (great for racing) as they offer very little protection from the elements.

No, which could have been a glaring oversight.

Fun little waves on a lower tide then I walked out to the rock platform and caught 5 tailor.

I call that a royal flush- you get a wave and a feed all in the one outing.

Tailor finally arrived then? Friends have been getting them around Newcastle for a few weeks.

First surf in a month. LAGO! 3ft and pretty consistent. Minimal people (cats playing at home). Got three and was totally fucked. Reckon I’m about 90% post covid. Nice to be back in the brine. Always feels nice. Cleansing.

Tailor seasons are all over the place now.

Caught heaps in summer and they were big.

Haven't caught one for weeks and these ones were all little choppers.

Normally you'd expect the greenbacks to show in May and peak June/July/.

Had abash this morning. Hard to get motivated but it was nice to get wet. Heavier crowd for the weekend and pretty rippy. Got a few and two that were good. Last one shared with a kook who took off right next to me and didn’t get off. Starfish pose while moving his torso back and forth trying to turn his board. Didn’t really affect my ride as he was so far out on the shoulder

Good solid swell at south magnets today.
Started to get into the swing of a few proper waves.
