I agree completely, Steve. Motivation is the other factor eroding quickly. It's funny riding the push bike has got me more excited than looking at crowded close outs lately. Plus I finish riding feeling good rather than with an aching shoulder.

Tell me about it. The surf here has been bad even my Perth standards. I've caught about 3 crappy waves the last month.steve shearer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 11:30 amdon't leave it too long Beans, at your age the skills and fitness will erode very quickly.

Well at least you aren't missing anything in Bali mate, beaches been closed for a while according to Slim on Baliwaves, although you could probably find a few quiet out-of-the-way places.Cranked wrote: ↑Wed Apr 22, 2020 2:46 pmTell me about it. The Balinese have always considered the ocean as evil, I'm pretty sure they are going to interpret playing in it as provoking their gods. You can't ever get between the Balinese and their religion.

And the Laskar gangs, they love a bit of violence, especially when it's sanctioned by their gods.

Woo Hoo, went for a dribble little surf at The Bra and managed to snare five waves off the grommets, stoked.

Had a jolly time with my boy in shapely knee to waist high peelers. As usual, had trouble getting him to come in.

My last 16 days since I got out of self isolation will probably be typical: I rode up in the hills for 1 or two hours for 13 days and surfed for 3 days.steve shearer wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 12:33 pmgood on you Beans.

The riding was great, but I caught about 6 crappy waves in 3 sessions of about 1.5 hrs each.
I always surf if its "on" as I can ride anytime.
I don't have a mal. I would get lots of waves if I bought a 10' x 24' x 3.5' (needed to compete with the standups). But fcuk that, there's a few shortboard reefs with only a few locals most of the time.
I'll ride the skate parks when they open.
So my surfing is extremely curtailed, my days of 2 x 2hr daily surfs in great conditions are gone. Riding keeps me sane, not surfing.

Maybe some trips North and South when the WA regions are opened. Got a riding buddy who works for Main Roads as an engineer. 5 years in Albany and 5 in Carnarvon, reckons he knows some out-of-the-way breaks.
