Now that they live broadcast thru NeuLion and not Youtube, I think part of that is to lock down live streaming access to be only thru the WSL site.
Might be some high tech way around it, but it would be a fight.

Also they say,

If the problem continues to persist it could be due to ad blockers. If you have enabled content filters or ad blockers of any sort then it's probable that the live stream will be blocked in error. Turning off these functions may resolve the issue.

You inspired me to have another look.
Yep. Awesome waves.
Then I realised they're showing last year replays.
The live stuff is weird - overcast, lumpy, can't see the horizon sort of stuff and waves closing down.
I think the scores reflect the "quality" of the waves.

I have the same problem exactly.
To the point I can be walking on a grass footpath and a slight depression in the ground will cause it.
