Seems to be purely focussing on these boards just just now. Fast and flowing looks amazing. Got to stay the guy looks like he is fitter than he was a year or so ago might be enjoying that as well.

A surf trip to Norway. Unfortunately, he doesn't score waves. But, it is an enjoyable travel article with some good photos.

Matt Warshaw advises that big wave pioneer Wally Froiseth has passed away at the ripe old age of 95. Warshaw provides a nice little remembrance here. Also worth clicking on the video, some nice old photos of the man with some mellow groovin' Hawaiian music. Vale Wally.

Alex Knost. Can't enjoy watching that dude surf.
It's like watching drunken a Jerry Lewis tripping over himself.
It looks like such a forced act. Stylish but awfully clumsy looking.

Don't mind him that much.........very mannered in his approach but with mal riding it's half style over substance any way.

Don't mind taking the 9'6" single fin out when it's small, With a heavy log there's substance behind good style.

Try's to hard to try to look like he isn't trying to hard.

Re: Just general surfing stuff
After reading the Beach Grit interview with AI where he admits to being absolutely shit scared in some extreme situations I am even more impressed with his, and others, courage and dedication in waves of consequence.
Without thinking too much about it I had assumed the old "familiarity breeds contempt" maxim would apply.

Exactly . It like there's moments where he looks incredibly and untouchably stylish. But everything in between just looks forcibly jumbled and awkward, in spite of it meaning to look 'effortless'. Shopping trolley - shopping trolley - shopping trolley - swan . Rinse and repeat.Davros wrote:Try's to hard to try to look that he isn't trying to hard.

I like footage of him riding single fin pintails. Kookiest style but definitely original. He is of course a media image package. I prefer watching Harrison Roach in that genre.

How narrow is that board (or how freakishly large are his feet)foamy wrote:Peter Mel, he really likes to keep it calm.
