Yeah. There’s a bit of a difference between a blustery building NE windswell and this...

Winds gone offshore already. Way earlier than predicted. Hope the swell holds.

Pre dawn surf. Glassy 3 foot or so, peaky and super fun.
Tide made it too fat so out of the water at 6.30am.

Exactly my experience. Some fun waves - best i've had in months. It felt like autumn with the west and south winds swirling about. Shame about the tide.

I had the funnest surf this morning in high tide shorebreak wedges.
I had a brand new Pyzel Ghost in the Camry and this epoxy assym ...and I was levitating. Long deliberation, then I thought nup, this is not a Ghosts maiden voyage. So took the assym out. Water was cool, there were about 20 girls in the shorebreak squealing and giggling and losing their tops. Would've been an aerialists wet dream.
I think when the tide goes out there are going to be fun waves everywhere on Pointbreak sandbars.
And that this week is probably going to under-achieve and disappoint a lot of people but thats fine with me. Under-hyped and written off suits fine.
I want Nightclub Dwight dead in his grave I want the nice-nice up in blazes

Northern beaches, cold water, rain and a SW wind in December - felt and looked like autumn. Anyway some fun waves.

Good old Manly this morning. As old mate above said it was freezing but offshore and OK 3/4 ft waves. Surfed an old 6'6 single fin for the hell of it. Probably shouldn't have done as it was a bit of a struggle getting into the waves. Got one clean, long, fast wave and as it wedged up on the bank my eyes buldged and went for a slicing top turn which felt great until I lost the fin and nosed dived into ankle deep water.

Apparently the lifeguards rated the water temp at 14 degrees last weekend. 29 air temp. Freeze your balls off without a steamer.
