Here's how much I'm procrastinating: looks like Wales with a swell window narrower than a nun's Cnut is about to get a tasty little ex-hurricane swell.
Y'see that Godsave, or are you too busy jogging?

Cranked, according to your blokes at surf-forecast the surf will be about 10 times bigger on Wed in Bali compared to the Mentawaiis.
They have to be fcuking with people, right?

so it can't be right, or even close to right then for the Mentawaiis?

Magic Seaweed is saying roughly the same and so is Storm Surf. The Surf Forcast kJs are roughly 400 and 4000. The others are in feet so who knows.
The animated model shows the how and why:

Surf-forecast on Wed says Iceland, which looks like one of the most exposed reefs in the Mentawaiis is less than 400kj all day.
Ulus peaks at just under 4000kj on the same day.
That surely can't be right.
Maybe it is?
Does Bali get that much more swell than the Ments?

I too was under the impression that the Ments got more swell (and had much lighter winds) than Bali

Taking some poppers? Ever been up one of the rivers to meet the animist locals? Worth it.

Doesn't the swell intensity rely on the direction?

Gunna be really interesting to see how the various forecast sites deal with it.
according to Surf-forecast , just about every break in the Ments next Wed will be 300-500kj.........roughy head high or under? pretty weak anyhow.
Ulus according to MSW will be 8ft.
My call is breaks with exposure to SSW angled swell should be 3-5ft with some 6footers. Roughly equivalent to the MSW call.
I found MSW pretty useful for Cloudbreak when I was there.
