The essence of surfing is boldness

Post by saucy gibbon » Wed Apr 04, 2012 8:57 am

If you are worried about what other people are doing, riding, thinking, if you want rules for surf craft or a ticketing system so everyone gets a wave or you hanker for surfing in a wave pool so you can walk to the take off and every wave is heralded by a tone similar to the shift change in the hello kitty factory .....

You have missed the whole point.

I'm in favour of one rule, if you hit the water after 1980 you should be engaging in some other pursuit ( endorsed by ya mum of course).

To appease Oldman et al and in an attempt to change my evil ways (baby) the subject line could be a discussion point.
Uni is not the real world.

allow me to translate:
people wanting rules and systems to get waves are soft
surfers shouldn't be soft
i can't get waves because I'm soft, therefore all young people should piss off

or, alternatively:
i'm a cnut
surfers should be cnuts
except if they are young cnuts

I hit the water pre 1980, so I must be in the cool group. Might go for a paddle and tell some people to fark off. It's my right aint it as a grumpy old cnut?

PS whats with all the pink an orange wetties at Bells? Good to see Mick wearing all black. Wetsuits should be black, and black only. Simple fact.

460 odd posts from The Gibbon and this is the first thing he has actually SAID.

So I'm giving him points for that alone.

Well done SG, you're evolving.

That SUP's fcuk off out of the lineup.

10 foot mals... goat boats... clubbies... boogers... are fine. Even in my current unfit state I can still get waves off them.

Is that when the new sequined and tassled wetsuits will be revealed?
I've heard it's Billabong's ticket for a return to prosperity...

Those half and half Nike wetsuits = super gay. Don't care who wears em. Don't care how good they surf. SUPER GAY.

If that was a typo and you meant that the essence of surfing is baldness, then I am well on my way there.
