Fuel TV
Don't seem to be showing much surfing these days (or snowboarding or skating). Just seems to be non-stop UFC which I fricken hate. Sundays used to be full of surfing.
Today its 8 hours of half naked blokes belting two pales of shite out of each other. Good for some male viewers I guess. Not that there's anything wrong with that if thats your thing. Just not mine.
Anyone work at Fox? WTF is going on?

Re: Fuel TV
3 things in this life I love watching...surfing, UFC and porn....I dont much care what ratios I watch them in either...UFC makes boxing look like a Rocky movie....one of the bad ones like Rocky 5. No complaints from me...only that Fuel doesn't show any porn.
Re: Fuel TV
Ha UFC and porn hey...
This is disgraceful but its probably right up your alley then.

Re: Fuel TV
I have noticed they shifted Surfers Journal over to NG Adventure. But i barely watch Fuel unless they show the Bodyboarding world tour events and the BMX Dew Tour.

Re: Fuel TV
I dont know about mixing cage fighting and sex but....I am not naive and understand many of the high profile winners of UFC cage fights can take their pick of the many groupies that follow the sport. Still maintain UFC, porn and surfing are the only thing worth watching...actually I do love war documentaries too but don't consider those in the same realm as the other 3. I have more respect for those that fought..on both sides and the futility of it all...I am a complex character....clearly.
Re: Fuel TV
UFC has hit a bit of a flat spot for a while. The last good fight was Bones Jones. Silva has cleared out his division. GSP won't move up weight divisions. Just looking at the next few cards and there is only a few fights worth seeing. Hardy v Lytle and Shogun v Griffin are some of the only good upcoming fights in the next several months. And they used to be undercard type fights. What happened the the Bones Jones v Rashad Evans fight?

Re: Fuel TV
Dana keeps pushing the possibility of a GSP Vs Silva fight.. going from snippets of interviews with GSP it doesn't sound all that likely but it would be nice if it did. I'd hate to be GSP in that one though, trying to meet Silva half way in weight will be a nightmare for him, and Silva dropping a little weight might just make him a little quicker.Coops@DY wrote:UFC has hit a bit of a flat spot for a while. I would consider him about as lucky as someone who finds some used chewy under a table and decides they just scored a bargain...

Talk about the lowest common denominator
UFC is the lamest "sport" around - no style, no class, no real skill. Just two boofheads who wind up rolling around on the floor, covered in blood. Strictly for the bogans.
Bodhi, you need to watch some of the light/middleweight bouts, it might restore your faithbohdidontsurf wrote:3 things in this life I love watching...surfing, UFC and porn....I dont much care what ratios I watch them in either...UFC makes boxing look like a Rocky movie....one of the bad ones like Rocky 5. Re: Fuel TV
Boys, boys where do I start? I have been watching UFC since the very beginning. I trained in martial arts for about 6 years before a mortgage and business opportunity meant it was costing me too much to train. I miss it big time and my 2 young boys have got the bug and I am stoked. With a change of job potentially coming up I intend to get back into it. Awesome fitness, great dicipline and really good for balance and flexibility. Like most who train and understand it for what it is, I hope I never have to use it, but have been glad I know a few things in the very few altercations I have ever had.
The comment re its for bogan's...? really, so would that include rugby league, union, AFL, ice hockey etc? Any of those full contact sports? Yes its a combat sport but for those who actually know what they are looking at it is very very technical...particularly juijitsui when done properly...each to their own but I cant watch boxing anymore...its like watching 15% of what is on offer with UFC. As for cricket, soccer, footy, and all of those other traditional sports...fark its like watching grass grow for me. I used to play rugby at a state level and I can get to half time even on a test now...just so fcuking boring.
I usually hear comments about it being 2 men in tights rolling around bleeding on each other from pussies that have never done anything more physical or threatening than take off on a 3 footer at Manly...every fighther that climbs into that ring has cags the size of soccer balls...would you do it?

Re: Fuel TV
Where do "I" start
I did tae kwon do and kendo for years. The philosophy that underpins martial arts is the key to it, if you're only in it for the fitness, etc, then you're missing the point. Being at one with oneself is the end product, not how well you fight someone in a pub.
This is the clincher. So if you find the sight of two blokes "rolling around", head to toe in advertising, "badass" tats, "hardcore" haircuts, bikini babes between rounds and after 5 mins seeing them out of breath and slapping each other with "hammer blows" to the side of the head, embarassing - that makes you a pussy?! Why would I want to fight someone? What's my beef with them? On the flipside, I have worked in third world countries as a aid worker and watched real courage and "cags" as they try to survive in shocking conditions. I'd like to see your cage fighters do that.
Yes, I would include most mainstream sports as bogan pursuits; there's very little of what I would call "grace" in those sports these days - they are just about cash with only fleeting moments of "beauty" and yes I played League into my early 20's. To say that the UFC is about martial arts is like saying that Cirque de Soleil is about gymnastics.bohdidontsurf wrote:Boys, boys where do I start? I have been watching UFC since the very beginning. Re: Fuel TV
I concur with anti UFC rants and the associated deterioration of Fuel as a channel worth watching... to be fair since I got back from the ol' US of A I haven't found much joy in aussie TV, FTA or Pay...
Have been seriously considering this thing called A2BTV, very expensive, but the channels you get make a mockery of the shite we get served up here and are expected to pay for.
