Worth the trek june-july?

Anyone been?

Anywhere better to go for simmilar prices ($1000) and quality waves at that time of year?

went there hey, surfs honestly not worth it, not all the great better off going to indo or samoa

Went there in May of 93. Got some great waves at a certain righthand reef. Beautiful place; less touristy than most sth pac islands with friendly people and a great local drop----- Cook's Lager.

Yeah i'm heading there on february 9th. Just had a look at some photos from a mate who was over there in december. 6 ft barrels though more of a boogers wave.

Yea I've seen some good pics of it, looks good but wondering if it could be pretty ficle.

Be interested to know how you get on there Kalian and mattm...where you stayed, flight prices...Make sure to post some pics or a report on how the trip went once you get back.

I have a good mate who works in the Cooks on a regular basis (and surfs).

His feedback is that the Cooks are more often very average than good and the place is expensive.

That said you can get fairly uncrowded waves however the quality is not the best.
