Re: Where did you surf today ?
BOM is not that good at picking morning land breezes or lighter/variable winds.
You need high res GFS for that and they use ACCESS G.

Well, I have no problem working out what's likely from monitoring the BOM 3 day predictions and live reads from the nearby wind recordingssteve shearer wrote: ↑Sun Sep 17, 2023 6:54 pmBOM is not that good at picking morning land breezes or lighter/variable winds.

My comment above related to what they said about today. I extrapolated from that plus taking note of the last couple of days actual.
It's no big deal. I've got a massive headland to surf either side of.

I still don't buy the "official" narrative about 9/11. Oh sure, it happened, fcuk yeah. But who and why and how I'm, not convinced it was what we've been told.

Swellnet was way off for today. Predicted decreasing swell which would have made it pretty much dead flat like yesterday. Quite a little spike. Scored a few midsize good ones. Bigger ones were closing out.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
A lot of East in the swell today. Not really much good for the banks. Super crowded and I guess Private Schools are on holiday.
Surf Coach who usually ushers adult women into the take off was running a little grommet session with coloured t shirts and a camera on the beach. Always nice to hear him claiming on their behalf when the odd decent little peak came through. 5 guys swinging around and apparently it’s little Johnnies wave even though he’s not in position.

I had more fun yesterday but that’s just the way it rolls some times. Had to go down there this arvo so I had a quick dip. Heaps of tourists. Looks like peak Summer.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
Scored some uncrowded punchy peaks at a rainforest clad cove yesterday.
I tried to come back up the ridge via an old track I used to know, and ended up stuck in a dense burrawang forest with lawyer vine (wait-a-while) as the sun set.
Had to retreat back to the beach and take the old track.
I was thinking I might have to spend the night in the rainforest, sheltering under the Gondwanan cycads.

Only thing that would make it better would be to have Godsave with you.Drailed wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 12:04 pmsteve shearer wrote: ↑Wed Sep 20, 2023 11:50 amScored some uncrowded punchy peaks at a rainforest clad cove yesterday.

I'd like to see Godsave give himself an opportunity to surf some real waves in wild conditions before he kicks the bucket.

Re: Where did you surf today ?
You never have that sort of problem at Bondi. More likely to get tangled up with a lawyer than a lawyer vine.
Nice stiff offshore conditions today.
