Yep, those who keep an eye on the wind stations or local conditions will be onto it for sure. Swell will likely have a residual N'ly wobble on it at first though.

So have you given up yet SS?

Best east coast Spring in living memory, and still 3 weeks to go.

By a long shot!!!!!!!!!!

Oldman, you're clearly just stirring the pot now!!!

It's been woeful up here in SE Qld/Nth NSW the last month or so (with the odd 1 or 2 days of swell).

I'm just hoping there's some banks around for this impending swell, otherwise I think I'll just give up and become a p1sshead!!!

Some cracker waves at beachies along the Northern end yesterday arvo. 3ft the odd bigger one, glassy as conditions as well. Loads better then today, was worth the few weeks wait!! very happy indeed.

I can understand how you might think I'm just stirring here DonW, but honestly, the east coast of NSW has had the best spring surf I can ever recall.

Hardly been a flat day in two months, and been some big days, and been a lot of offshore days or mornings at least, against the standard period of flatness through the entire spring almost to xmas.

I'm not surprised you are missing out, but SS should have been getting some of it even though a lot of it has come from the south.

Best spring ever from Hunter down to about Eden I would imagine. :|

Woah, steady on there Oldman, I have surfed nearly every day for the past few months, but to say best ever, wow spring must be pretty dire around here.

I would of called it average with plenty of swell but dicey winds and no real A-class quality.

You must be on some good medication ;) :p

give him a break, his local is coogee beach. and its surrounded by beaches that mostly close out. if you see a wave in the east that peels for 20m, that is going off!

Water's warming up now which is nice. Here on the mid north I would say its been not as good as the last 2 springs. There has been swell at times but poor winds in the main. The back beaches have been struggling to organise their sand as well which is difficult. The generally benign swell has helped with sand on other beaches though.

Water is warming up now as well down here.

Ditched the boots last month and I'm now in the 3x2 with the hotskin

Surf this spring has been average, been some good days but it's not a standout. There's been swell every day but too many southerlies. This weekend is a total write-off.

Well we're certainly in for a big reminder of Spring over the next week+ or so!! Constant N'lys and nothin but weak windswell.

Feck, bring on Summer so we can say the fecking goodbye to Spring!!

Don't spoil Old's nineteenth century romance novel with a bit of reality.
