In general, you should disregard Hmax, as it represents the "largest" wave recorded by the buoy. This could have been one solitary wave towering far above the average (over a period of 30mins), and in strong windswell situations - such as today - this figure is exaggerated a little more than usual.

of course you should make up your own mind on what the buoy data translates into in terms of waves at your local based on experience.
for sure.if i see 2m hsig from the south i know it will be overhead at my south friendly beach.depends on period aswell.i disregard peak period though
